With plenty of places to walk, shops, sailing, golfing and exciting Ice Skating Deeside has much to offer. There are some hotels, bed & breakfasts holiday self catering cottages and guest houses in the area to enjoy your stay. The North Wales coast is close by and many other beauty spots.

The main jobs in the area are linked to close by Chester with its walled city. However the local economy seems quite strong and there are jobs in the local industry. Shotton is a small industrial town. Deeside College offers local higher education
